BioScience Technology

This innovative program is designed to meet the needed skill set for a position in the bioscience/pharmaceutical research, veterinarian technician, or pharmacy technician industry.
Teachers: Deloris Veney and Georgia Anthony
The program teaches concepts and processes of biotechnology research and manufacturing. On-the-job thinking and problem solving are taught through scenario activities that require students to summarize the results of experiments and troubleshoot errors that may lead to variations in results.
Topics Taught:
- Lab Experiments in Collecting, Analyzing, and Applying Resulting Data
- Laboratory Animal Science
- Algebra from Basics to More Advanced
- Fundamentals of Microbiology, General Cinical Chemistry, and Pharmacy Procedures
- Includes 120 Externship Hours
Certification:
- National Pharmacy Technician (PTCE) Exam offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
