Medical Assisting

Our 900-hour program offers 636 hours of classroom training and 264 hours of hands on experience at externship sites in surrounding healthcare facilities.

ACWHCC Medical Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) on recommendations of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants.
Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) perform administrative and clnical duties under the direction of a physician.
Some tasks include:
- Schedule patients
- Prepare patients for examinations
- Assist in clinical or patient-care procedures
- Perform patient education
- Perform management and supervisory tasks
- Process medical billing, and coding
- Insurance claims
- Perform blood draws

Maintain medical records
Certifications:
- At the completion of this course the student will be eligible to sit for the nationally recognized Certified Medical Assistant examination offerer by the American Association of Medical Assistants.
